ARSENAL FC legend, Robert Pires, is expected to land in Kenya later today in his maiden tour of the country.
The renowned football star, who helped Arsenal win multiple trophies in the Barclays Premier League (BPL) will be hosted by Barclays Bank of Kenya (BBK). The 42 year-old is currently a free agent and a former French international attacking midfielder. He is expected to jet into the country at 8:20PM, through Jommo Kenyatta International Airport.
During his visit, Pires will unveil a new programme by BBK and Mathare Youth Sports Association (MYSA) dubbed 'Sport for Kenyan Youth Employment' (SKYE) on Saturday. The programme targets to train young people in Mathare on business and employability acumen.
At Arsenal, Pires won three FA Cups and two Premier League titles including the club's unbeaten season of 2003–04 (Invincibles). He earned 79 caps between 1996 and 2004 for his country, including winning both the 1998 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2000.
