KENYAN music producer and ragga artiste, Shirko, is not happy by how the Kenyan music fraternity has failed to recognise his work.
He says that Kenyan media in particular has never shown any interest in even giving him a simple interview.
Shirko -- who has been doing great work in neighbouring Tanzania -- feels that he has every reason to appreciate the Tanzanian music industry for their dedication to show love to his work.
He says: "Yaani! Eti
mpaka leo kwetu nyumbani bado hamja notice bidii yangu ya kusema
mnatambua upambanaji wangu katika kazi? Hata interview moja nsipate?
Hata praise yoyote kwa kujivunia kuwa kuna mtu anatuwakilisha sehemu
flani kuwa anafanya kitu flani ambacho kinaonekana na kutamba? Siongei
haya kwa ubaya lakini this is how i appreaciate tanzania sababu
wamekithamini kipaji changu na kuitambua bidii yangu kuliko kule
nlikozaliwa ambapo kuna media ambazo zina uwezo wakutumia kipindi hiki
cha mafanikio kuliko mpaka nife ndio wanikumbuke. Ila naamini nabii
kweli hakubaliki nyumbani. Thanks God for everything."
Does Shirko have a genuine cry?
